Edna Horkey, 80, of Tamarack, died Thursday, November 19, 1998, in Bucktail Medical Center, South Renovo. Mrs. Horkey, who was raised in Carmichaels, was a member of Faith City Church in Newark, Del., and graduated from nurses training in Philadelphia. She was a Sunday school teacher, Bible teacher and spiritual counselor, visiting hospital patients and shut-ins. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and swinging on her porch swing. On January 25, 1937, in Morgantown, W.Va., she married Albert Michael Horkey, who died September 9, 1975. Surviving are four sons, Albert Duane Horkey of Whitman, Mass., Kenneth G. "Zeke" Horkey of Cross Fork, Wallace E. Horkey of High Point, N.C., and Ronald K. Horkey of Elkton, Md.; a daughter, Karen Elaine Pulanco of Waldorf, Md.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. An aunt, Catherian McMinn, lives in Carmichaels.
