Lawrence W. "Jake" Roberts, 75, of 104 East High Street, Waynesburg, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Roberts spent most of his life in Greene County and Beaver. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 82nd Airborne of the U.S. Army. Mr. Roberts worked from 1950 to 1987 as a group leader for Curtis Wright, which later became Westinghouse Corp. He recently joined Landmark Baptist Church in Waynesburg and was a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461. Surviving are a sister, Sylvia Kent of Beaver; five brothers, Lloyd Roberts of Carmichaels, Robert B. Roberts of Florence, John F., Roy Allen and Blaine Roberts Jr., all of Beaver; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Evelyn Houser and Ruth Ann Masters; and three brothers, Ewing, Donavon and John S. Roberts.
