Oscar L. Smith, 90, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, November 28, 1998, in his home. He was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church and was a lifelong resident of Canonsburg. At the age of 88, Mr. Smith retired from his 70-year career as a locksmith. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose and Elks lodges, all of Canonsburg. He also was a member of the Associated Locksmiths of America and the Locksmith Museum of America. On June 4, 1930, he married Ruth B. McDaniel, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Arthur W. Smith of Lone Pine and Donald L. Smith of Canonsburg; a daughter, Norma Jean Koman of Washington; a sister, Alice Norwood of Canonsburg; seven grandchildren, Curtis W. Koman, Robert C. Koman, Dr. Christopher G. Koman, Tracey McCarthy, Eric B. Smith, Donald L. Smith Jr. and Jennifer M. Smith; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are five brothers, Frank, Walter, Steve, John and Barney Smith; and two sisters, Stella Jajucki and Mary Bernacki.
