William E. McCloskey, 84, of Wilson Road, Washington, died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 1998, in Washington Hospital. He was a self-employed contractor and a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, Washington. Mr. McCloskey attended Washington High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was twice married. In 1948, he married Sara Luella Matlock, who died July 30, 1966. On January 18, 1975, he married Leru Herron, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Laraine Godsey of Harrisburg, N.C., and Bonnie Ellen McCloskey of Washington; two brothers, Raymond and Bernard McCloskey, both of Washington; a sister, Eva Grace Burke of Washington; four grandchildren, Michael Gillis, Dianna Lamb, Deidre Dennick and Derek Dennick; and two great-grandchildren.
