Donald R. Berty, 69, of Cecil, died Tuesday November 3, 1988, in Allegheny University Hospitals-Canonsburg. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Berty was employed at Cyclops Corporation in Bridgeville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of Cecil American Legion Post 793, where he served as sergeant-at-arms. Mr. Berty was a district commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the board of directors of the Montour Trail, a member of Cecil Township parks and recreation board and a member of Cecil Township Friends of the Trail. On June 4, 1951, in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cecil, he married Joan Vidmar, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kim DeGennaro of Canonsburg; two sons, Greg Berty of Clarksville, Tenn., and Dennis Berty of Cecil; five grandchildren, Jason, Tim and Melissa Berty, and Gina and Cory DeGennaro; two sisters, Arlene Manley of Mesa, Ariz., and Lucille Pesavento of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; and a brother, John J.
