Worked in glass industry for 35 years
Chester C. Tarr, 82, of Waynesburg Road, Washington, died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 1998, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington, and had been in failing health for the past two years.

He was born November 23, 1915, in Washington, a son of Chester B. and Sadie Harmon Tarr.
Mr. Tarr was a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and had attended Washington schools.
He was a machine specialist having been employed at Hazel-Atlas Glass Co. Plants 1 and 2 in Washington, Midland Glass in New Jersey and Chattanooga Glass in Keyser, W.Va. He had been employed for 35 years in the glass industry.
On August 23, 1941, he married Gayle Kiger, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gary M. Tarr of Washington; a brother, Arthur Tarr of Uba City, Calif.; and two grandsons, J. Gregory and Brian M. Tarr.
Deceased are three brothers, Clarence, James O., and Charles Tarr; and three sisters, Thelma Allen, Laura Miller and Florence Gregg.
