John F. Yasek, 80, of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, October 13, 1998, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Yasek was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a retired coal miner at BethEnergy Mine No. 51 in Ellsworth. He was a member Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville and UMWA Local 1197. Surviving are his wife, Madeline Yancoskie; four sons, Andrew Yasek of Emporium, John Yasek of Ellsworth, Joseph Yasek of Washington and Edward Yasek of Charleroi; a daughter, Lorraine Stedman of Ellsworth; a sister, Mary Pawlus of Eatonton, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
