James Fred DeYulils, 76, of Indian Head, Md., died October 4, 1998, in his home.

He was born February 15, 1922, in Monongahela, a son of Domenic and Nicola DeYulils.
Mr. DeYulils was an electrician/armature winder at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, until he retired on disability in July 1975.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from November 1942 to December 1945, participating in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He also earned the Purple Heart.
Mr. DeYulils was a member of Holy Name Society, REACT Club, DAV Chapter 36 and St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Indian Head. He had coached Little League baseball for 10 years, served as a Boy Scout leader and loved camping, traveling and computers.
Surviving are his wife, Olga R. Watson DeYulils; two sons, James F. DeYulils Jr. of Waldorf and Harry J. DeYulils of Ashburn, Va.; three daughters, Rosemarie Fuchs of Indian Head, Gloria J. Burnley of Dahlgren, Va., and Dorothy L. Grimes of Indian Head; two sisters, Mary Popp of Portage, Ind., and Rose Champ of Bedford; a brother, John DeYulils of Thontasasa, Fla.; grandchildren Tina Clements, Diana L. Dennin, Charlotte M. Moore, Catherine A. Hansen and Rose L. Burnley, William S. Burnley IV, James F. DeYulils III, Josephine D. Forsythe, Cheri A. Girardin, A. Allen Grimes Jr., Jason T. Grimes, Trevor A. Grimes and Sarah A. DeYulils; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Margaret Polinsky; and a grandson, Larry E. Luttrell Jr.
A Mass was held October 8 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Goode officiating. Burial followed at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf.
