Randall G. "Ike" Ward, 80, of 550 West Chestnut Street, Washington, died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 1998, in Washington County Health Center, following a brief illness.

He was born May 20, 1918, in Washington, a son of Samuel R. and Sarah Margaret Wolf Ward.
Mr. Ward was a millwright for the former Kress Box Co., and had earlier worked at Hazel Atlas Glass Plant 2.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific and China.
In earlier years, he was an avid softball player. He enjoyed model trains.
On March 13, 1939, he married Elizabeth "Sis" Buchanan, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Jo Scott of Belpre, Ohio; four sons, William, John "Rick," Charles "Doug" and Jamie Ward, all of Washington; two sisters, Martha Barcoft of Oregon and Peggy Sobolosky of Monaca; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Gump; three sisters, Betty Hill, Libby Ward and Virginia Evans; and four brothers, John, Kenneth, Leo and Wayne Ward.
