Joseph M. Malinsky, 64, of Masontown, died Thursday, October 15, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg. Mr. Malinsky retired from the U.S. Navy in 1981 after 30 years of service and at the rank of chief petty officer. He served in the Korean War. Following his military career and until 1996, he was the manager and coordinator for the Carmichaels Senior Citizens, and was instrumental in the purchase and renovation of the former Kesock Building. He was a member of the AARP and Fort Mason American Legion Post 423. Surviving are his stepmother, Anna A. Barrish Malinsky of Masontown; a daughter, Brandy L. Payne of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Joseph M. Malinsky Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; a grandson, Sagel Joseph Malinsky; two sisters, Delores Yancich of Ellicott City, Md., and Madelyn Weiss of Chicago, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
