Robert E. Ames, 64, of Winterhaven, Fla., formerly of California, died September 27, 1998, in Palm Garden Care Facility, Winterhaven. Mr. Ames was an insurance agent, an active member of First Christian Church and a member of the Masonic F&AM Lodge. His wife, Margaret Morris Ames, died October 23, 1996. Surviving are a daughter, Denise Moore of Normal, Ill.; two sons, Robert A. Ames and Timothy Ray Ames, both of Winterhaven; two brothers, Kenneth E. Ames of Ellsworth and Terry R. Ames of Washington; a sister, Darla Scrip of Roscoe; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorial services were held October 2 at the First Christian Church in Winterhaven, with the Rev.
