Kenneth W. Powers, 72, of New Stanton, died Sunday, October 11, 1998, in Greensburg. Mr. Powers was retired from Teledyne in Scottdale after 30 years of service. He was U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Powers was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 23 years. Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Farren; a son, Daniel Powers of Scottdale; stepson, Sean Thompson of Lower Burrell; stepdaughter Beth Thompson of New Stanton; three grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Powers Zelenka of Washington. Deceased is a sister, Helen Levers. Services were held Wednesday, October 14, with the Rev. Jeffery Welsch officiating. Interment was in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
