Sarah Virginia Amos Bankey, 84, of St. Paul's Terrace, Wheeling, W.Va., died Thursday, October 15, 1998, at Mound View Health Care Inc., Moundsville, W.Va. Mrs. Bankey was a homemaker and a member of Fulton United Methodist Church, Wheeling. Surviving are two sons, Leroy of Albuquerque, N.M., and August of Wheeling; four daughters, Jean Hewitt of Claysville, Dorothy Zoppi of East Hanover, N.J., Charolette Nelson of Valley Grove, W.Va., and Victoria White of Washington; two brothers, Louis and Charles Amos of Wheeling; two sisters, Mae Thorne and Mabel Nickerson of Wheeling; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Deceased are her husband, August Houston Bankey, who died in 1970; a grandson, August L. Bankey, who died in 1977; a granddaughter, Lisa Zoppi, who died in 1977; and two great-grandsons.
