Herman Helmich Jr., 82, of Canon Apartments, Canonsburg, died Tuesday, October 20, 1998, in McMurray Hills Manor, McMurray. Mr. Helmich resided in Canonsburg the past 45 years, where he was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was formerly employed in the maintenance department of Cooper Industries, Canonsburg, retiring in 1978. On November 10, 1937, he married Caroline Miller, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Herman "Bucky" Helmich of Bethel Park and William Helmich of Canonsburg; a daughter, Elizabeth LoGreco of Canonsburg; nine grandchildren, Craig, William, Jason and Michelle Helmich, Veronica DeLaney, Laura Caruso, Stacy Behary, Nicole LoGreco Joos, Alison LoGreco; and nine great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are a sister, Mildred; and two brothers, John and George.
