Richard E. Ruetschi, 69, of Roth Street, Houston, died Thursday, October 22, 1998, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Ruetschi was a member of First United Methodist Church in Canonsburg and a member of Anawanna Hunting and Fishing Club, American Legion Post 902 of Houston, and Sheffield Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Claysville High School graduate. Mr. Ruetschi had been employed by Engelhardt Power and Associates as a surveyor. He also had worked as an insurance salesman for Western Southern and as a meat cutter for the former Kroger of Washington. He retired in 1991 from the former McGraw-Edison where he worked as a security guard. Mr. Ruetschi enjoyed hunting, fishing and relaxing with his family at Camp Comanche in Tiona. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served with the U.S. Army. On March 15, 1951, he married Nives J. Nagode, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert R. Ruetschi of Washington and Randolph J. Ruetschi of Houston; a daughter, Robin L. Matyas of Houston; four grandchildren, Roxanne Rae Ruetschi, Timothy Richard Steven and Thomas Robin Matyas and Brandon Lee Ruetschi; three brothers, Bennie Ruetschi of Washington, David Ruetschi of Taylorstown and Leo Ruetschi of Prosperity; four sisters, Thelma Kelly of Claysville, Violet Camp May of Washington, Gail Shriver of Hobe Sound, Fla. and Freda Jones of Chicago, Ill.
