Edward Earl Baer, 74, of Washington, died at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 1998, in Washington Hospital. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Baer had been employed by the Donley Brick Co. of Washington. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army in the Southern Philipines and the Ryukyus. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, Philipine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. On June 28, 1946, he married Aylia D. Johnson, who died March 3, 1994. Surviving are a son, William E. Baer of Houston; two daughters, Mary Hutter and Nancy Whitfield, both of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Susan Rebecca Price; a son, Edward E. Baer Jr.; a granddaughter, Tania Hutter; two brothers, Raymond Baer and George Baer; and a sister, Gertrude Sterling.
