Edward Ross Jones, 88, of East Washington, died Friday, October 23, 1998, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. Mr. Jones retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he had worked as a clerk for 30 years. He was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and Elliott Business College. Mr. Jones was a member of West Washington United Methodist Church, where he formerly served as trustee and board member. He also was a volunteer with the Washington Hospital auxiliary and delivered Meals on Wheels. On March 16, 1934, he married Winifred E. Rowell, who survives. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Kerr of Waynesburg; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces. Deceased are a son, George Thomas Jones; and a daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Jones Wilson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 26, in West Washington United Methodist Church.
