Mary Ellen Scott, 51, of Lincoln Avenue, Washington, died Wednesday, October 28, 1998, in Horizon Senior Care, Canonsburg, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Scott attended Friendship Baptist Church and Bethlehem Temple, both in Washington. She was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and Washington Institute of Technology. Surviving are her husband, Paul Scott of Washington; two sons, Anthony James Carr of Sandusky, Ohio, and Walter R. Maryland of Graterford; a daughter, Elizabeth Youngblood of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Travis and Tyrone Bush and Tonaiya Carr; four sisters, Josephine Owens of Pittsburgh, Carolyn Johnson of Beaufort, S.C., Lavern Burgess of San Antonio, Texas, and Faye Brown of Fort Worth, Texas. Deceased are her stepfather, James Andrew Johnson; and two previous husbands, Walter Maryland Jr. and Jimmy Youngblood.
