Martha B. Coles, 66, of Jefferson, died Saturday, October 3, 1998, in Washington Hospital. Mrs. Coles was a 1951 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and had lived all of her life in Greene County. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 954, Jefferson, and an avid bowler with the Thursday morning Hot Shots at Sahady Lanes in Jefferson. On October 18, 1952, she married Charles (Chuck) Coles Sr., who died January 25, 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Patty Johnston and Brenda Tennant, both of Jefferson; two sons, Charles E. Coles Jr. of Jefferson and Robert H. Coles of Mather; seven grandchildren, Courtney and Jessica Johnston, Brittany and Kaitlyn Coles, John and Julia Tennant and Nicole Crile; and two sisters, Elizabeth Boyle and Mary English, both of Carmichaels.
