George G. Lesso, 77, of 106 Lawn Street, Canonsburg, died Saturday, October 3, 1998, in Greenery Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by McGraw-Edison for 25 years. Mr. Lesso attended Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the American Legion posts of Houston and Strabane. Mr. Lesso was a charter member of the Ice and Blades Club of Washington and enjoyed teaching others figureskating. He also enjoyed flower gardening. On June 10, 1950, he married Ruth Thompson, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Judith Lesso-Worona of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Anna Backner of Strabane and Margaret Popka of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. He was born April 20, 1921, in Strabane, a son of Stephen and Anna Krehulec Lesso.
