Joseph J. Lucciola Sr., 83, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, October 4, 1998, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Lucciola was a member of St. Patrick Worship Site of St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, where he was a member of the Catholic Men's Club, ushering for 35 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific Theater. Mr. Lucciola was employed by Mayview State Hospital. He was a volunteer for Canonsburg Food Bank since its beginning and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsubrg. On June 26, 1938, in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg, he married Sue M. Pallaria, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Amic of Canonsburg; a son Joseph J. Lucciola Jr. of Muse; four brothers, Patsy Lucciola of Library, John and Dominick of Canonsburg and Anthony Lucciola of Houston; a sister Jean Insana of Washington; six grandchildren, Bob and Paul Amic, Paulette Carpenter, Amy Collins, Todd and Melissa Lucciola; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews . He was born December 28, 1914, in Castel Fort, Italy, a son of Enrico and Antonia Vecchio Lucciola, and was a longtime resident of Canonsburg.
