Edward J. Vlcek, 84, of Finleyville, died Tuesday, October 6, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals-Canonsburg. Mr. Vlcek had worked at the Zinc Works of U.S. Steel Corp. in Donroa until it closed. He then worked as a lathe operator at Quality Millworks Inc., Finleyville. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Rices Landing American Legion, the Slovak Club of Donora and St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church of Finleyville. Surviving are his wife, Helen Milesky Vleck; a daughter, Sandy Corcoran of Finleyville; five brothers, John, of the state of California; Andy and Mike of Florida; Joe of Fisher Heights and Steve of Carmichaels; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
