Robert W. Ebel, 97, of McDonald, died Wednesday, October 7, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals-Canonsburg. Mr. Ebel was a member of Calvary United Presbyterian Church of McDonald, Oakdale Masonic Lodge and the UMWA. Mr. Ebel retired from Pittsburgh Coal Co., Washington, in 1966. On April 21, 1926, he married Viola Carter, who died June 25, 1988. Surviving are a daughter, Gloria E. Ebel, with whom he made his home; a son, Robert E. Ebel of McDonald; three grandchildren, Brian Ebel, Kim Sartori and Beth Signorini; and four great-grandchildren. Deceased are a sister, Myrtle Knaak, and two brothers, Eric and Harry Ebel.
