Latricia J. (Tish) Abbey Hess, 59, of Main Street, Bentleyville, formerly of Van Voorhis, died Sunday, September 13, 1998, at her home. Mrs. Hess was a member of Bentleyville United Methodist Church. She was once employed as a nurse's aide at Washington County Health Center. Surviving are six daughters, Latricia (Patty) Chadwicke, Donas Poling and Joyce Rice, all of Bentleyville, Ruthann Burgoyne and Doris Kliza, both of Monongahela, and Janet Cermak of Republic; two sons, Vernice Hess Jr. of Brownsville and Randall Hess of Oil City; four brothers, Jerry Abbey of Brownsville, George Abbey of Van Voorhis, James Wergin of Donora and Barry Wergin of Charleroi; two sisters, Linda Vanassent of Kansas and Nancy Abbey; 21 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband of 29 years, Vernice F. Hess Sr.; two sons, Butch Abbey and Daniel Hess; and an infant grandchild.
