Henrietta Cole, 74, of 63 R&R Park, Dayville, Conn., died June 21, 1998, at the Center for Optimum Care in Danielson, Conn. She was the wife of the late James E. Cole Sr., who died in October of 1994. They were married July 26, 1945, in Washington. Mrs. Cole attended school in Washington. Upon completion of her education, she worked as a machinist in industries during World War II. After her marriage in 1945, she devoted her life to raising her family. She also worked as a waitress in a local restaurant. In 1965, the family moved to Matawan, N.J. In 1968, they moved to Killingly, Conn. Mrs. Cole later became employed as a nurse's aide at Westview Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center in Attawaugan, Conn. She held the position for 12 years until her retirement in 1989. Mrs. Cole was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She also enjoyed gardening and reading and golfing with her late husband. Surviving are two sons, John Cole of Dayville and Gary Cole of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Thomas Martin Phillips Sr. of Prosperity; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is one son, James E. Cole Jr., who died in 1992. Service and interment were held in Westfield Cemetery, Danielson.
