Sherman Edward Johnson, 79, of Jefferson R.D.1, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 1998, at his home. He was Protestant. Mr. Johnson was a farmer and lived all of his life in the Jefferson area. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On July 1, 1954, he married Iva Pyle Johnson, who died March 6, 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Annette Hutchins of Lansdale; two sons, Gary Leroy Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Gilbert C. Johnson of Bloomsburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Deceased is a son, Ronald Johnson. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 17, at Garards Fort Cemetery, with the Rev. Carol Touvell officiating.
