Louis Bernardine, 90, of Canonsburg R.D.1, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday, September 18, 1998, in Horizon Senior Care, Canonsburg. He was a lifelong resident of the Canonsburg area and a member of Venice United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bernardine was a coal miner for 50 years and was last employed at National Mining Co., Muse, before it closed in 1956. He also was a member of United Mine Workers of America. In July 1929, he married Dorathea Phillips, who died January 6, 1989. Surviving are a sister, Florence Broz of Arizona; his caregivers, Allen, Darlene and Jamie Barni; and other nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Sam, Dominic and Eugene Bernardine; and three sisters, Mary Dinnen, Edith Guerra and Mildred Grant.
