Josephine Horner Mintier, 89, of Portland, Maine, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 1998, in Maine Medical Center, Portland. Mrs. Mintier was a teacher for 36 years in Nemacolin and Waynesburg school districts. She retired in 1968, and moved to Maine to be near her family. She was a member of North Deering Congregational Church in Portland. Surviving are a daughter, Diana Mintier Bailey of Missouri City, Texas; two granddaughters, Stephanie Rea and Kendal Ruth Bailey; and a sister, Ruth Horner Kenny of Portland. Deceased are her husband, Arthur Mintier, who died in 1965; and two brothers, Earl C. and Winfield Rea Horner.
