Martin P. Flannery, 76, of Hannibal, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 1, 1998, in New Martinsville Health Care Center, New Martinsville, W.Va. Mr. Flannery was a member St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Sardis, Ohio. He was a graduate of Wheeling High School and West Liberty State College and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Mr. Flannery was a retired teacher and football coach at River High School in Ohio, where he coached several Ohio Valley Athletic Conference champions. He was a member of American Legion Post 760 of Hannibal, the Hilltoppers Athletic Hall of Fame and the River High School Hall of Fame. Surviving are his wife, Gloria Tonini Flannery; a son, Michael Flannery of Hannibal; a daughter, Kim Strawn of Hannibal; two sisters, Mary Bartsch of Wheeling and Kathryn Young of West Liberty, W.Va.; and six grandchildren, Angie and Tony Ensinger, Joey Flannery and Trever, Chris and Stephen Strawn.
