Oldman G. Ward, 78, of Salem, Va., died Saturday, August 29, 1998. Mr. Ward attended school in Waynesburg and was drafted into the Army in 1941, serving during World War II with Battery B, 42nd FA BN as a corporal. He participated in campaigns in Central Europe, Northern France, Ardennes, Normandy and Rhineland, receiving the EAME Ribbon with five bronze service stars and arrowhead, the Good Conduct Ribbon and American Defense Ribbon. He retired as owner of O. G. Ward's Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Co. in 1981. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Margaret Moore Ward; a son, Oldman G. "Zeke" Ward Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Sharon Ward Trout of Richmond, Va.; two grandsons, Paul J. Trout Jr. of Richmond and Zach G. Ward of Charlotte; a great-granddaughter; six sisters, Betty and Helen Morris, both of Waynesburg, Dorothy Jennings of Cortland, Ohio, Peggy Sellers of Eustis, Fla., Vaunda Davis of Carmichaels and Mary Braddock of Rochester. Deceased are two brothers, Gaylord and Ernest Ward Jr.; a sister, Mildred Lewis; and an infant sister, Doris Ward.
