Velda Hester Cumpston, 87, of 127 Thompson Gardens, Waynesburg, died 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. Miss Cumpston was a Protestant and a homemaker. Surviving are a sister, June C. Troxell of Waynesburg, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers and six sisters. There will be no public viewing or services. Private graveside services at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, will be held at the convenience of the family.
