James Edward Ferry, 72, of 334 Second Street, California, died at 12:53 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 1999, in Brownsville General Hospital. Mr. Ferry was Presbyterian. He was a master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Camp Springs Lodge 227 F&AM, Syria Temple Shrine, Pittsburgh; Almas Temple of Washington, D.C., 32nd degree Scottish Rite of Washington, D.C. Mr. Ferry came to California in 1962 from Washington, D.C. He retired as district auditor for G.C. Murphy Co. after 45 years of service. He was married to Jane Eileen Williams Ferry, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Barbara Jane Chenevert and Carol Ann Duvall of Dover, Ohio, and Debra Jane Wence of Kernersville, N.C.; one sister, Virginia Jane Ferry of Dravosburg; and 10 grandchildren, Brad, Jennifer, Valerie, Craig, Bryan, Benjamin, Steven, Matthew, Megan and Garrett.
