Monday, March 1, 1999 Nellie L. Greer Member of Broad Street Baptist Church Nellie L. Roach Greer, 89, formerly of Broad Street, Washington, died Saturday, February 27, 1999, in Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born January 19, 1910, in Washington, a daughter of Joseph Henderson and Sara Anna Luellen Roach. Mrs. Greer was a homemaker, a member of Broad Street Baptist Church, a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 687 where she played dartball for 26 years, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22. On June 8, 1931, she married Maynard Earl Greer, who died August 8, 1979. Surviving are two daughters, Dolores Joan (Dody) Gump of Washington and Peggy Roland of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Jean Snyder of Washington; six grandchildren, LuAnn Knox, Jeffrey and Kelly Gump and Darlene, Fred and Todd Kuhn; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Patty Jean Greer; two sisters, Norma Heatley and a sister who died in infancy; and five brothers, Donald, William, Harold, Leonard and Jack Roach.
