Roy R. Patterson, 71, of 20 Williams Street, Bradford, died Friday, March 19, 1999, in Bradford Nursing Pavilion. Mr. Patterson was a graduate of Washington High School and, since 1954, a resident of Bradford, where he retired in 1990 as a 40-year technician with Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. He was a member and sang in the choir of First Baptist Church and attended First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Washington Lodge 164 of the F&AM and Coudersport Consistory. Mr. Patterson served with the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class during World War II. On January 11, 1951, in Washington, he married Barbara Birmingham Patterson, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Cynthia D. Glady and Elizabeth R. Blair, both of Bradford, and Billie F. Patterson of Bristol, Conn.; four grandchildren; a stepgrandson; a brother, Robert V. Patterson of Houghton Lake; three sisters, Lucy Edmonds of Tulsa, Okla., Edna Ball of Tallahassee, Fla., and Ruth Waltz of New Stanton; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a daughter, Patricia Ann Patterson, who died in 1967; four brothers; and two sisters. Roy R. Patterson
