Monday, March 8, 1999 William O. Williams Retired coal miner was WWII veteran William O. Williams, 80, of Washington, died Friday, March 5, 1999, in South Hills Convalescent Center, Canonsburg. He was born November 14, 1918, in Canonsburg, a son of William O. and Nettie Dempster Williams. A retired coal miner, he had worked at Westland Coal Mine of Consolidated Coal Co. Mr. Williams was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was twice married. His first wife, Alice A. Burgess Williams, is deceased. His second wife, Ella Porter Williams, survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Rhonda L. Dungee of Washington; five sons, Leslie Williams of the state of California, Ricky Williams of Ohio, Myron Williams of Houston, Kevin Ellis Williams of Canonsburg and Michael O. Williams of Pittsburgh; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Teckla Davis of Houston. Deceased are a daughter, Jacqueline Williams; three sisters, Sarah Robinson, Gladys Young and Harriet Williams; and two brothers, Henry and Joseph Williams.
