St. Hilary Church member
Mary Cursi, 83, of Washington, formerly of Michigan Avenue, died Friday, July 14, 2000, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born April 7, 1917, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of John and Catherine Knutich Smiglsky.
Mrs. Cursi was a member of St. Hilary Church. She was employed as a nurse at Mayview State Hospital in the TB center for 14 years, until her retirement.
She enjoyed making flowers, crocheting and ceramics.
On January 3, 1938, she married Jacob Cursi, who died September 15, 1961.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Kennedy of Scenery Hill, Carol Pierce of Washington and Jacqueline Cursi of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one brother, Joseph Smiglsky of Bentleyville; one sister, Helen Sokol of Greenville; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is one sister, Ann Smolinski.
