Mona M. Klinzing, 87, of Canton Township, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 2, 1913, in Hopewell Township, a daughter of Charles O. and Nellie Gertrude Steel Mahanna.
Mrs. Klinzing was a clerk at the former G.C. Murphy store in Washington.
She was a member of Friendship Community Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher. She formerly had been active as a volunteer for the American Heart Association.
Surviving are a son, William M. Klinzing Jr. of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two daughters, Shirley K. Barlow and Phyllis A. Brooks, both of Washington; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, William M. "Buck" Klinzing, who died June 30, 1981; and five brothers, Donald, Paul, Kenneth, Dane and Charles O. Mahanna.
