Monongahela homemaker born in Romania
Olga Dufek, 74, of Vine Street, Monongahela, formerly of New Eagle, died Friday, July 14, 2000, in Haven Crest Nursing Home, Carroll Township.
She was born May 27, 1926, in Romania, a daughter of Emilian and Stephania Werezak Czubej.
Mrs. Dufek immigrated to the United States in 1952 and attained citizenship Aug. 15, 1980.
She was a member of Transfiguration Church in Monongahela.
Mrs. Dufek was a homemaker and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed flowers, polkas and German music.
In 1945, in Austria, she married Peter Dufek, who died December 10, 1980.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas G. Dufek of New Eagle, Peter Dufek Jr. of Pittsburgh and Paul Dufek of Seattle, Wash.; five grandchildren, Cindee Shifflet, Pamela Tolar, Heidi Lemley and Thomas J. and Sara E. Dufek; and three great-grandchildren.
