Mary F. Strothers, 103, formerly of Linn Avenue, Washington, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Washington County Health Center, Washington. She was born October 9, 1896, in Churchville, Va., a daughter of James and Julia Williams Propps. Mrs. Strothers moved to Washington in 1905, where she became a charter member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and had been past president of United Methodist Women's Club. She also was involved in many other church activities. On July 15, 1918, she married Samuel Shields Strothers, who died April 4, 1958. Surviving are a son, Waverly Strothers of Washington; three grandsons, Ronald Strothers, Waverly Strothers Jr. and Eric Brewer; four granddaughters, Annette Napper, Lois Ball, Selena Evans and Gail Harris; 13 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
