Wilson F. Voelker Sr., 85, of 275 Garner Run Road, Waynesburg, died at 6 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2000, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, following a lengthy illness. He was born August 22, 1914, in Pittsburgh, a son of Frederick Voelker and Lucinda Wilson Voelker Rankin. Mr. Voelker attended Bates Fork Baptist Church in Sycamore. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and worked for several years for Bethlehem Mine Corp. in Marianna as a night maintenance supervisor. He later worked for Robert and Schaefer Construction as a construction supervisor for several years before retiring in 1983. His first wife, Emma Kerr Voelker, is deceased. His second wife, Mildred M. Yoders Voelker, died February 28, 1988. Surviving are three daughters, Gayle Merritt of Waynesburg, Rosetta Kopp of Anaconda, Mont., and Bertha Jean Kennedy of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; a son, Wilson F. Voelker Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Shirley Cummins of Mt. Morris Star Route, Waynesburg; a stepson, Robert L. Williams of Park Forest, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Watters of Carmichaels. Deceased is a brother, who died in infancy. Viewing and services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
