Virginia Evelyn Pinkerton, 76, of Claysville, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2001, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington. She had been seriously ill the past three months.
She was born September 22, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of Perry and Gail Anderson Wilson.
Mrs. Pinkerton attended Claysville Baptist Church and Trinity area schools.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed going to church and gardening.
On February 27, 1941, she married Carl Pinkerton, who died May 29, 1999.
Surviving are three sons, Carl H. and Alfred L. Pinkerton, both of Washington, and James T. Pinkerton of Avella; two daughters, Edna Boyd of Scenery Hill and Ellen Pinkerton at home; three sisters, Mae Jones, Betty Caldwell and Margie Leasure, all of Washington; nine grandchildren, Pam Fernandes, Brian, Ronald, Douglas and Jeff Pinkerton, Debbie Miller, Donald and Edward Boyd and Wendy Hillberry; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two granddaughters, Stacie Boyd Amos and Christine Pinkerton; a sister, Wilma Gillespie; and a brother who died in infancy.
