Emery C. Garee, 94, of Lancaster, formerly of York, died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2001, in The Glen at Willow Valley, Lancaster.
He was born June 14, 1906, in Fayette County, a son of Clyde L. and May Brewer Garee.
Mr. Garee was salesman for 30 years with Nabisco Brands, Harrisburg, where he retired.
He attended Fairmont (W.Va.) State College.
Mr. Garee was a former member of Calvary United Presbyterian Church, where he was ordained as an elder in 1955. He was a 54-year member of York Lodge 266 F&AM, a member of York Forest 30, Tall Cedars of Lebanon and Harrisburg Consistory.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Pearle M. Powell Garee; two sons, Ronald E. Garee of Red Lion and Donovan P. Garee of Lancaster; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 6, in Mt. Rose Cemetery, with the Rev. Ryan Banman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
