Rex E. McNary, 77, of Crafton, died Wednesday, January 3, 2001, in Greenery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
He was born October 10, 1923, in Pittsburgh, a son of Elmer and Harriet Stevens McNary.
Mr. McNary was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes as a machine gunner and radio operator. He was awarded the European-African Middle Eastern Ribbon with four bronze stars, Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters and World War II Victory Medal.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Conrail as a radio repairman.
Mr. McNary was Methodist.
He was married to Genevieve A. Barclay, who died May 28, 1978. He later married Ruth C. Nicklas, who died September 20, 1993.
Mr. McNary was the last of his immediate family.
Surviving are a niece, Linda Babeji of Lawrence; and a nephew, Dr. Edwin L. Hartman of Smithfield, N.C.
Deceased are two sisters, Lois Edna Hartman and Dorthea Neals.
