Glenn W. Morris, 91, of Holbrook R.D.1, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2001, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, after being in failing health the past three years.
He was born October 11, 1909, in Jackson Township, a son of John M. and Lorena Morris Morris.
Mr. Morris had resided in Jackson Township all of his life, where he formerly served as a justice of the peace.
He was Protestant.
Mr. Morris was a former employee of Sharon Steel and National Tube Co., and for most of his working life was owner/operator of Morris Electrical and General Contracting prior to his retirement in 1974.
He was a graduate of Coyne Electrician School in Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Morris served in the U.S. Army as a private with Company C, 36th Signal Battalion during World War II and was a member of Waynesburg Disabled American Veterans Post 123.
On July 10, 1930, he married Helen Myrtle Reese, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Norma Lee Hunter of Rogersville, with whom he made his home the past three years; a brother, John Everett Morris of Waynesburg; three grandchildren, Vickie Wilson and Randy and David Clark; seven great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are a son, Gary Lynn Morris; two brothers, Carl, who died in infancy, and Dewey Morris; six sisters, Orpha Hunt, Iona Mehm, Lulu Johnson, Neva Orndoff and two sisters who died in infancy.
