Washington Post Office superintendent

John M. Braden Jr., 66, of Washington, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, in his home.

He was born April 16, 1935, in Washington, a son of John McIntyre and Catherine Manion Braden.

Mr. Braden worked in Washington Post Office for 38 years, most recently as postal operations superintendent.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion.

On June 17, 1961, in Washington, he married Dorothy Bannister, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Deborah and Johanna "Jodi" Braden, both of Washington; a brother, Alfred G. Braden of Emporium; two sisters, Catherine Hemlepp of New York City, N.Y. and Ida Perrault of Lombard, Ill.; and a granddaughter, Chanel Allen.
