George Richard Benson, 60, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

He was born August 27, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of Jean Benson of Bethel Park and the late Don Benson.

Mr. Benson was a project manager in the Heavy Highway Department of Dick Corp.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Turner Benson; a son, Alan Benson; a brother, Donald Benson; and four sisters, Marty Harty, Jeanne Benson, Joyce Query and Lori Kuntz.
