Doris A.C. Barnhart

Retired payroll supervisor for Jessop Steel

Doris A. C. Sten Barnhart, 81, of Washington, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 17, 2001, in her home.

She was born September 17, 1919, in Washington, a daughter of Albin Carl and Lilly Elizabeth Johanson Sten.

Mrs. Barnhart was a member of First Lutheran Church of Washington.

She had been employed for 23 years as a payroll supervisor by Jessop Steel Corp., retiring in 1982.

Mrs. Barnhart was a 1936 graduate of Trinity High School.

She was a member of the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 175, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 122, Arms Club and Vasa Lodge No. 308.

Mrs. Barnhart enjoyed traveling.

She was married to Marshall Barnhart, who died April 24, 1988.

Surviving are a stepson, Michael Barnhart of Washington; two stepdaughters, Marsha King of Rochester, N.Y., and Virginia Barton of Washington; two brothers, Carl A. Sten and Leroy Sten, both of Washington; six nephews; and two nieces.
