Josephine A. Bartkus

Josephine A. Bartkus, 82, of Muse, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, in Tandem Health Care of North Strabane after a brief illness.

She was born April 7, 1919, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of John and Ann McKennas.

Mrs. Bartkus was a homemaker and enjoyed baking for her family and friends.

She had been formerly employed at RCA Radio Plant in Canonsburg.

Mrs. Bartkus was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church of Muse, Christian Mothers of Holy Rosary, Muse Senior Citizens and Cecil Hilltoppers.

Her husband, Tony Bartkus, a retired district justice from McDonald, died December 21, 1990.

Surviving are a daughter, Joan Bush of O'Fallon, Ill.; a son, George J. Bartkus Sr. of Cecil Township; and five grandchildren, Alison Bush-Delgado, Katherine Bush and Stacy, Elizabeth and George J. Bartkus Jr.

Deceased are a sister, Helen Haley; and two brothers, Walter McKennas and Pete Eugatis.
