Clarence W. Carden

Fisher Body retiree was Army veteran

Clarence W. Carden, 71, of Finleyville, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Washington County Health Center.

He was born January 18, 1930, in Ellsworth, a son of Wes and Lillie Pritchard Carden.

Mr. Carden was retired after 35 years of service as a machinist with General Motors Fisher Body Division in West Mifflin.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Carden was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Finleyville.

He was a member of American Legion Post 613, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 172, Mingo Rod & Gun Club, Hackett Club, Dallas Lodge 508 F&AM and Auto Workers Union 544 in Dravosburg.

Surviving are his wife, Louise Lancaster Carden; two sons, Richard Carden of Finleyville and Lawrence Carden of Bethel Park; a daughter, Darlene Miller of Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Roy Carden of Fairless Hills; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Deceased are two brothers, Earl and Luther Carden; and a sister, Violet Acton.
