Joseph C. Delpiere

Former McDonald fire chief

Joseph C. Delpiere, 77, of McDonald, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

He was born June 4, 1924, in McDonald, a son of Fernal M. and Anna M. Estvan Delpiere.

Mr. Delpiere served in World War II and retired from American Bridge Co. in Ambridge and Bellaire Electric as a shop supervisor.

He was a life member of McDonald Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as fire chief from 1968 to 1977.

Mr. Delpiere was a member of Belgium Club and a local steelworkers union.

On August 20, 1947, he married Leona Phillips, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Joann Bennett of McDonald; two sisters, Ruth Klimas of McDonald and Rose Fallert of Bethel Park; and three grandchildren, Brian, Jamey and Tim Bennett.

Deceased are a son, Joseph Delpiere Jr.; a brother, Art Delpiere; and a sister, Ella Mountain.
